My Kenmore upright frost free freezer (model 253-24452102)

Resolved Question:

My Kenmore upright frost free freezer (model 253-24452102) has been leaking water off and on for some time. I don't know if this is due to the automatic defrost feature or what. I checked my owners manual and this problem isn't mentioned. When I pulled the freezer away from the wall to look behind it, I noticed black tubing which seems to enclose a metal tube has pulled slightly away from the base of the freezer, but it doesn't seem like water could come from there. What should I do?

Where do I find the defrost drain? Is that something I can take care of on my own, or do I need to hire a repairman?

Yes ...You would need to remove panel #25....Remove screws at #71a.....Becarful once you remove the panel the temperature control #21 is connected to panel.....Thanks Bob

Is #29 the drain that is likely plugged? What do I use to unplug it?

Correct....You can take hot water to melt ice around drain ...Or if there is a blockage in drain hose....Bob
