It sounds as if your brake is not releasing, you may need to replace the thrust bearing. Part number is XXXXX

i'm a curious do-it-myself person/i'm an engineer/do you think i can do it if i buy the thrust bearing?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
i'll be back in 30mins//have to run
It is not too difficult, you have to remove the belt and the main transmission pulley. The instructions come with the part. If your washer was making a loud roaring sound before the spin failure, this part will not work. That would indicate a bad bearing in the transmission.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
then, i usually let the washer do it's work that is why i cannot say anything about the roaring sound before the spin failure thing, can i do the bearing stuff too?special tools on the bearing?main transmission pulley?
No special tools required, the kit #12002213 includes everything you need.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
are thrust bearing and transmission bearing included in the kit? pri ce range of the kit?
The transmission bearing is seperate and a difficult job. The thrust bearing kit is easy. The kit runs about $30.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
no other possible problem area except those you mentioned?
No, they can have other problems, just like everything else. But the spin problem is usually solved by the thrust bearing kit.
