Customer Question

It takes about an hour for my oven to heat up to 425 degrees. It is a GE Profile Spectra which was purchased in 2002. My stoves have always lasted lonter than 7 years. Is it worth getting it fixed and how much would that cost ? ( approximately) Thanks, Lila

Hi thanks for the question.

Does it also take a longer time to ignite the gas once the Glow Coil comes on.

And can you smell a bit of gas.

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
No, to both questions.

Great so it just started.

The problem is with the Glow Coil.

Its not as hot as it used to be and the gas needs a good hot Glow Coil so it can ignite.

Its a common problem with all gas stoves.

So if you replace the Glow Coil it will fix the problem.
