I have a Kenmore hood micro model 401.80093700 that started to act up a few weeks ago. The "baked potatoe" and fan no longer worked. Then other choices soon followed in the same manner. Then it started to beep and the digitial display shows 5E. This is just over a year old.

Already Tried:
It won't allow you to make any choices just beeps and shows 5E on the display so I unplugged it. It started about a week ago just not doing certain automatic buttons eg baked potatoe etc then the fan did not operate.

When you unplug it and then plug it back in, does it seem to work for a couple of seconds or just the 5E comes up immediately?

You only need to remove the grill that should only have 2 screws holding it in, then there is one screw holding the cotrol panel on, should not take more than 15 minutes to replace the item. just carefully remove each plug from the old one and install it on the new one...
