Dear Maytag Expert,Atlantis (2002) washer - when the washer goes into the Rinse & Spin cycle it stays there. It spins with the water coming in and the water goes right on out. It never stops spinning or the water running. It's stuck in this cycle. How can we help the washer to move to the next cycle?Thank you.
Make: MaytagModel: Atlantis washer (2202) Already Tried: A lid switch. At that time the washer would fill up at the beginning of the wash and then just sit there with the water. No movement.
Hi thanks for the question
After the wash cycle the motor starts and drains the water away.
Then it spins for awhile then stops and fills up for the rinse cycle.
Does it work ok till it gets to that pump out .Does it pump that water out ,And then you start getting the water to spray while the tub is spinning and keeps doing that Spinning and water coming in and the timer not moving. Is this what the washer is doing
Yes, it is doing exactly as you had replied. The timer is not moving it to the spin only cycle.

Model # XXXXX
Thank you
The timer is stuck in the spray rinse cycle. Its suppose to spin and spray cold water a few times to force the soap out of the clothes.
If you just move the timer a few clicks will it then stop the water and go on to finish the cycle.
We did as you said - move the timer - but it still is spinning and water is still coming in. Even moved the timer to the stop position and it continues to spin and water coming in.
If it continues to spin in the off I would say a yes to the timer problem.
So what does a new timer cost and were do I get that,i paid 50 dollars for the lid switch which I thought was high
What is the model number of the washer. And I will check for you and the price of the lid switch.
