i HAVE A MAYTAG QUIET SERIES 300.. ABOUT 5 OR 6 YRS OLD.. I JUST NOTICED WATER AT THE BOTTOM NOT DRAINING. I PULLED IT OUT AND RAN IT THROUGH A RINSE CYCLE THEN IT WENT BACK DOWN.. THINKING I UNCLOGGED IT... WELL THERE IS STILL WATER IN IT.. i NOTICED THERE IS LESS WATER WHEN I PUT ON HEAT DRY.. WHEN I DONT' HAVE IT ON HEAT DRY THERE IS MORE.. JUST A RING OUTSIDE THE HEATER RING... CAN'T FIND MY MANUAL.. MY HUSBAND SAID PUT DRAINO IN IT.. I'M NOT THINKING THAT SHOULD BE DONE.
Make: maytagModel: quiet series 300 Already Tried: I pulled it out and checked for leakes underneath.. found none. I was going to undo the black hose from the machine but when i ran the rinse cycle i felt like water was coming and going into the dishwasher. I didn't take anything apart inside yet..because it didn't look like there was anything. its working...just leaving water at the bottom and it never did that before.
Hi thanks for the question.
I think you were very close to the problem.
That drain hose at the motor .take that off.You will get water leaking.
Inside you will find a rubber flapper.Clean it out. This should fix the problem.
should I unplug it before I do that? i didn't do that before.
I thought it was sorry .Yes do that.

ok.. it wasnt the flapper.. the water came out and its all clean? any other suggestions?
Did you check at the sink where the drain hose is hooked up to.
what exactly am I looking for.. the drain hose hooks up to the other side of the sink opposite of the garbage disposal.. can I hook the add water to the hose from the dishwasher and hold it up in the air.. are you thinking its plugged from there?
If you have not looked at that spot it could be .
Take the hose off the hook up and then put in in the drain cycle .Put the hose in a bucket.
i'm not comfortable taking the hose off under the sink.. there are brackets holding the hose that its bolted against. its been washing.. is there something inside the dishwasher i should be cleaning? now that the water is cleaned out from the bottom, it doesn't look like there is anything stuck but i cant see under the spinner without taking off the protective cover... i have about a 1/2 hour before my husband comes home and finds me messing with his dishwater.
Just try a load and watch the water drain out at the sink.See if it just trikkles out.
If it does trikkle out. tell your husband to take the hose off to clean.
ok... i'm going to sign off and put it all back together before he finds out.. i'll let you know. touch base with you later.. thanks .
Ok talk later.
