I have a GE Spacemaker microwave oven, model no: JVM1630WB004, manufacture date: 11/2000. The plastic gear to rotate the plate is not moving and is making a grinding noise. What is the problem?

Hello this indicates that the turn table motor is broken click here

You may also want to take the plate out and remove the coupler the part that goes down into the bottom and connects to the motor sometimes it can break to.
