I purchased a GE Profile refrigerator a few months ago. I have had no problems in the first few months.

Yesterday the refrigerator started making loud noises. By that I mean the motor is running loudly and constantly. Also, the back of the freezer compartment is covered with a fine frozen mist. I suspect something is wrong with the ice maker, but not sure what to do.

Please help.

It seems that this brand new fridge has a defrost heater problem. This location you are speaking about in bak of the freezer compartment is where the defrost heater is located. You said, you only have this fridge a few monthes.You can not attempt to repair it your self or you will void the warranty.In this case you must use the GE authorized repair service. 1 (800) GE CARES. Ge will take care of it for you.
