hotpoint refrigerator model hts17gbsarww serial #dh755077 freezer freezes fine refrigerator doesnt 44 to 55 top freezer wasnt frozen when i took cover off but i still thawed it any way little blower on top behind plastic cover doesnt seem to ever come on could it be bad or mabe the thermastat to turn it on again freezes fine refrigerator not cold enough also what year is it i think 06-07
Hello,Did you say that the fan in the freezer never comes on? Please close the frdieg door and press the freezer door switch if it has one to see if the fan would run. If the fan would not run, then that is the problem. The fan is the one bringing the coldness to the fridge section so if the fan is not running, then the fridge will not cool down.
i figured that and did that but is it the fan, thermostat,or what else how about the year its not old fan looks like simple fix but tomany times when you do what you think it isnt
Hello,I am still looking for the manufacture date of your unit. I am not sure if I can find it. The thermostat could still be fine since your compresor is running and that is controlled by the thermostat. For now it will not cut off since it is also sensing the fridge tempperature. If the fridge is not cold, the comressor would not cut off.If you remove the fan and directly hook it up to an outlet and still would not run, then definitely the fan is faulty.
i thought of that but the wire are small i didnt think it was 110 i thought the refrig might reduce it but if it is still 110 ill try it if it works then what where is the thermostat
Once you remove the fan, you can find out if it 110 Volts also. There would be something stamp on the windings. It has a spade terminal. Be careful removing the socket. Sometimes the spade terminal of the fan would come off as you remove the clip and would break the fine wire attached to it.The thermostat is underneath the freezer dividing wall with the fridge. In this diagram, it is part 300. The temperature controller.
have check it tomoroww will be back dont leave me
How long to do think it would take you?We are of a different time zone so I might log off after 3 hours.
Hello,Have you checked it already? What did you found out?
just getting up have to go to apt to check on it went to MV yesterday when i logged off was real cold and rough seas refer is at different site wish i had your cell # XXXXX i get back ill computer you
Ok...No problem. Take care there.
hi tried to computer you this morning but computer was down so, last nite refer was 30* fan was not on also no button to hold for the freezer door with refer door closed to see if fan will come on just dont want to buy afan motor to find out it is the thermostat where is the thermostat and how do i get to it or check it
Hello,Click this diagram. The thermostat is on the ceiling of the fridge. You have to bring down the plastic casing holding the lighting fixtures, the control thermostat and it would be there. It is part 300 on the diagram that I sent you.The thermostat also controls the compressor so if the compressor is running, then the thermostat is good.Just a question, you may not be looking for the defrost termination thermostat are you? Your unit has another part called the defrost termination thermostat. It controls the defrost heater and it is located inside the freezer . It is attached to the evaporator coil. Click to see Defrost termination thermostat.
