I have an ecosmart top-filling clothes washer that we bought when we lived in IL (I've since moved to PA since my husband died). Today when I went to begin laundry, when I pushed the Power button, all the lights came on as usual but then immediately went off. I then could not get it to display any power what-so-ever. I unplugged it, checked out the socket which was fine, replugged it, but I still could get no power, just a "click" when I would push the power button. I even checked the fuse, resetting it (although I wouldn't have had power had it been the fuse - duh!), but again, no power. In reading the User's guide, I tried to "reset" it by holding down the start/pause button & then pusing the power button, but again, no luck. Being an 56-year old, disabled woman, I was unable to get the number off the back left of the machine but I believe we bought it inlate 2005 or early 2006 & it was a new model at that time. Please tell me we don't have a brain freeze!
Make: Fisher&Paykel EcosmartModel: top loading (? number) Already Tried: Checking wall outlet, fuse, "resetting" according to the User Guide's instructions.

But I hate to say it sound like you have a bad control (I think that what you ment by brain freeze)
if you can get me the model number I then would be able to get you a part number and a price!!
Let me get a mirror & see if I can find the model number for you. What dealership do I need to look for if, in fact, I do need to replace such a piece? I don't live near any big cities, but there is a Sears & some smaller, independent dealerships around. Be back shortly.
