I have a MAYTAG electric range, mdl #MER57550AS. I replaced the back element due to an open (archs, sparks and smoke from lower area). I'm getting 121 volts to each leg of the bake and broiler elements fromt the neutral connection leg when I select bake or broil. I select 350 degrees or higher and the oven indicates 100 degrees and I can hear the oven clicking for an increase but it stays at 100. Which lead me to think the temperature sensor is bad; but I'm getting 1400 ohms across the sensor. All areas of the oven are function. What is the problem
Make: MAYTAGModel: MER57550AS Already Tried: REPLACED BAKE ELEMENT; CHECK VOLTAGE, DOOR SWITCH AND TEMP SENSOR.
when the oven is hot what ohm are you getting at the sensor
The oven is not heating at all.
you need to have 240V going to the element. take one side wire off of the element then test power. also check the power cord and outlet.
I don't have 240 volts at the bake element with the oven ON. I disconneded on side of the element and I have 120 between the two wires.
check it to ground find out witch one dose not have 120 and trace it back till you find out where your losing it.
I tracked it back to the circuit board and I only get 121 volts at the connector (pin) at the board to ground(neutral) with the circuit board relay clicks; the yellow wire gets 121 volts constantly.
sounds like the relay in the board is bad
