My Whirlpool microwave model# XXXXX is showing nothing on the display screen when the door is opened the light does not come on. I have checked the power to the microwave and I know that it is getting power. What should I check next.
can you set the control without it being lite up and it will work?
No. I acts as though there is no power to the microwave at all.
but the light works when you open the door ,, if you have a turntable does it try to turn when the door starts to open?
The light does not come. When I first saw the problem I thought the breaker had tripped but it was fine. I took the microwave and checked to make sure it was getting power to the microwave and it is.
ok so the microwave is completely dead then ,, right?may i have the complete model number off the sticker inside the door?
Yes it is completely dead. The complete model number is XXXXX
you have blown a fuse ,, remove the grill across the top, take out the screws at the top of the control panel, push up and remove ,,, the fuse sets inside behind the control board / thanks Larry
