everything works fine on my model wwse5240g0ww ge washer but it clunks when it agitates what is my problem
Make: Ge HydrowaveModel: wwse5240g0ww Already Tried: Everything thing works fine except for the clunking noise when it agitates..... it almost sounds like something might be unbalanced..... but what doesn't make sense is that there is no clunking when it is spinning
<p>This may be the agitator coupling and agitator going bad, however it can be other thing also. The most common are the co9upling and agitator being worn!</p><p><table border="0" id="table_270"><tbody><tr><td><a href="ht tp://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/showPart.pd?partNumber=WH43X10034&productGroupId=0026&supplierId=363&brandId=0432&documentId=G0712160&keySuffixId=NA&modelNumber=WWSE5240G0WW&keyId=0300&pageId=00003&productTypeId=0153200&searchModelNumber=WWSE5240G0WW&subCompDesc=Tub,%20basket%20&%20agitator&brandDesc=GE&modelDesc=WASHER&backToLink=Return to part list">Agitator asm multi </a><dl><dt>Number: </dt><dd>WH43X10034 </dd><dt>Size: </dt><dd>17.60L x 15.10W x 14.90H </dd></dl></td><td><strong>$40.99</strong> In stock Quantity <a onclick="javascript:ShoppingCart.addToCart('WH43X10034','0026','363','0432','G0712160','NA','WWSE5240G0WW','0300','00003','0153200', 'qnt_2', 'feedback2');">Add To Cart</a> </td></tr></tbody></table></p><p><table border="0" id="table_270"><tbody><tr><td><a href="http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsd irect/showPart.pd?partNumber=WH43X10032&productGroupId=0026&supplierId=363&brandId=0432&documentId=G0712160&keySuffixId=NA&modelNumber=WWSE5240G0WW&keyId=0310&pageId=00003&productTypeId=0153200&searchModelNumber=WWSE5240G0WW&subCompDesc=Tub,%20basket%20&%20agitator&brandDesc=GE&modelDesc=WASHER&backToLink=Return to part list" title="click for details"><img src="http://s.sears.com/is/image/Sears/PD_0022_363_WH43X10032?$pddetailsth$" alt="click for details" width="100" height="100" /> </a><strong>#310</strong> on diagram </td><td><a href="http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsd irect/showPart.pd?partNumber=WH43X10032&productGroupId=0026&supplierId=363&brandId=0432&documentId=G0712160&keySuffixId=NA&modelNumber=WWSE5240G0WW&keyId=0310&pageId=00003&productTypeId=0153200&searchModelNumber=WWSE5240G0WW&subCompDesc=Tub,%20basket%20&%20agitator&brandDesc=GE&modelDesc=WASHER&backToLink=Return to part list">Agitator coupling </a><dl><dt>Number: </dt><dd>WH43X10032 </dd><dt>Size: </dt><dd>14.00L x 9.00W x 3.30H </dd></dl></td></tr></tbody></table></p><p> </p><p> </p>

so are we talking about a major repair?
it swooshs and then clunks swooshes then clunks...... what is best route of repair technichian or us.... no warranty on the machine.... don't worry i plan on accepting i just want to make sure i have the facts right first
If the agitator problem you can do this yourself by removing the agitator. It requires a great amount of force to remove! If it is beyond that, you need a technician to do the work. Depanding on age, it may be worthwhile to consider a new unit if major auch as transmission. By the way, I do not worry abiout accepting, I am here to help!
so since i bought it used is it best to take it back to the guy and get our money back? how long do you think that it will work until we can get it returned or parts replaced.... i haven't had a washer for a week and we have seven people in the house so i need to do laundry lol
WOW! Laundry tiime! I would certainly ask for my money back since he sold you a defective unit. I am certainly sorry that you are having this problem, and hope the seller is an upright person and does what is right and either give you the money back or pay for repair! GOOD LUCK
ok so one last quick questions... with the links you gave me for parts are those then only ones we should need to fix the washer? because if it is... it is only about a fifty dollar repair and the guy we bought it from is a very upstanding man so he would probably help pay for the repairs at least... so is it worth trying to repair because money is very tight because my fiancee is laid off so if i can have a quality machine or is this a sign for more serious problems down the road
<p>If it is the agitator and coupling, it is well worth the cost of repair. They are a dependable unit. My only question is why was it for sale? Washers are not something you trade in on an new one! I hope all works out well for you! My wife is a RN and had some trouble finding a new job, but the job market is opening up! ALL THE BEST!</p> The parts I listed is all that is necessary to replace the agitator!RUSS40049.1122540856
some people owed him money and the used the washer and dryer set as the payment and he took their word that the units were in good repair. so he never tested them and we didn't until we got them home so maybe the best thing to do is have a technician to take a look and since we live in a small town... that service is usually free and then we can decide with the seller what the best course of action is.. thanks for all your help
