My Sears dryer model 417.82042101 was made by Frigidare seven years ago. The machine will stop part way thru the drying cycle for no apparent reason. It may or may not restart by turning the start knob. If my problem is an acvcumulation of lint, is there a way I can get inside and clean out accumulated lint. I have not been able to remove the lid on the unit and can not find a way to remove the lid. Any suggestions?
Make: Kenmore Model: 417.82042101 Already Tried: I cannot find how to remove the lid.
Hi thanks for the question.
At each corner of the dryer .Two spring clips. Use a screwdriver and push in at the clips. This will release the top. Then you can remove the screws for the front panel.
The only thing I see by the back are 2 "Bracket-hinges" according to Sears. Although I have removed the screws that hold them in, nothing else seems to be removable. What do I do now?

This is an older dryer but the top comes up and the front comes off the same as youres use the screwdriver to pry the top up The rest is what you have in yours.
