I have a Jenn Air JCB2285HES refrigerator. It starts making a humming noise (sounds like ssssssssss click) every few minutes, sometime is after a longer interval. Maybe whenever the compressor kicks in? Is this a relay problem? Although this refrigerator model is one of the recalls back in March, but the serial number of my unit is not.

Yes this model was not part of the relay recall ,
Is the unit cooling but making this noise ,or not cooling and making noise
it is cooling but making the noise
I would assume it is the relay going bad and they would need to be replaced if noise is overwelming if it is bearable , you will need to decide if you want to replace I show its less then 26 bucks

it probably a silly question, how do I know if the new relay part that I order is not the same one that Jenn Air was recalling for? how much work it is to replace it myself and how much would it be to have a service guy to do it?
to do your self approx 20 min. to call a servicer they will charge you approx $80.00 -$100 for the part and approx $75.00 -$100 labor
This is a differant compressor not the same as on recall or it would be on the recall
The relays are manufactured by another company not the companies that uses them
