My G.E. Top Freezer Refrigerator is leaking water from what appears to be the back right side of the refrigerator. Can you help me identify what the problem may be? Nelson Reese GE Appliance Owner
Hi thanks for the question.
Is the freezer at the back or on the floor with this model?
Could you send me the model #
The drain is probably blocked.I can help you with this.
Thanks for your quick response!
The refrigerator is a top-freezer model, so the freezer is on top(one door) with the refrigerator door underneath. The model # XXXXX XXXXX I look forward to hearing back from you.
The freezer panel has to be removed.A few screws to take out .pull the panel back carefully .The drain pan is under the cooling coils. That tray is to drain the defrost water down to the drain pan under the fridge. That drain tube has to be cleaned. This will solve the problem.
Thanks again for your reply.
Is the Freezer Panel located inside the freezer, or at the back bottom of the refrigerator? I just want to be sure I am removing the proper panel.
I look forward to your response and will gladly pay you more that what I initially deposited!
Open the freezer door and its the back wall panel.
You will see a few screws remove those and pull it back a bit to see the drain pan.
There look to be two screws, one on each side at the top of the panel. Once I remove the panel, how do I clean the tube? Sorry. I have very little experience here.
Those two and also # XXXXX take out # XXXXX the screw.# XXXXX is where the problem is.
