I own a #(NNN) NNN-NNNNRefrigerator, liquid is on my kitchen floor every morning. It seems to be coming from the bottom of the refrigerator. What could be causing this? Also, I have a dishwasher that the water does not spin out of. I have been washing dishes in the sink for the last 6 months. What could be the problem with it. Cheyl
Hi thanks for the question.
The water could be coming from the drain pan under the fridge it could have a crack in the pan.Pull the fridhe out and check that.As faras the d/w I need the make & model #
Thanks.
The pan was checked, there was no water in it. Water on the left (freezer) side is clear but the liquid on the right (refrigerator) side is dark. The model # XXXXX(NNN) NNN-NNNNIt is a kenmore side by side
Are you getting water on the freezer floor ?If the pan is dry the defrost water which the fridge defrost twice a day has to go to the drain pan under the fridge.
Yes, the drain pan is dry. I am getting water on the freezer side that is clear. And water on the refrigerator side that is dark.
Once the drain tube is cleared in the freezer the fridge side will have no more water.
You have to take the freezer panel out and thaw the ice in the drain tube that goes down to the drain pan under the fridge.
DocJohn:
I'm sorry, I had to leave for work yesterday. This is not instant and does involve some waiting. I asked someone to come over today to help and he has not shown up yet. I will be contacting you when he arrives and I have the time to wait on responses and communicate with you.
Thank you for your help and patience
Not a problem.
I will be here.
I must apoligize for the delay. You were trying to help me early in the week but the guy fixing the refrigerator did not show up, and unfortunately I ended up working double shifts the rest of the week. However he showed this morning, read what you said, and we think we fixed it. I now need to get to my dishwasher. When I hear from you I can accept (if I still need to) or we can move on to the next step.
Please advise.
Good day.
What was wrong with the fridge Was it what we thought.
And what is the problem with the d/w.
The drain hole at the bottom of the freezer had ice in it. The ice seemed to be keeping water from draining into the pan, thus making it flow out at the bottom of the unit onto the floor. The pan was competely dry. All we did was pour warm water into the drain. We are hoping that is it. The dishwasher is a kenmore model#(NNN) NNN-NNNN The problem with it is that the water will not spin out. It goes all the way through a cycle but the water says in.
When its suppose to drain does the pump make a clunk ?
Or is it just the motor noise you hear.If no clunk the problem is the drain solenoid.
Yes, the noise makes a clunk
That clunk is the drain solenoid It should drain if you hear that .Check the drain hose at the sink.Remove that hose and check for a blockage.
OK. My friend is going to run a coathanger threw the hose. Give us a few minutes.
You should be able to see the clog at the sink
Talk later
We ran a coathanger threw the line at the sink (garbage disposal) and it appears to be clear. Show we try to go threw the dishwasher?

This is your pump & motor the black part on theside is the drain solenoid thats the clunk you hear is the solenoid opening the walve to let the water out.Does it not drain at all or leaves some water in the tub.
There is no clog. The whole line is clear. We ran the dishwasher and when it got to the spin cycle the water just sat there. When I opened it up and re closed it it automatically went back to washing. We did it several times. It would not go into spin cycle.
You will have to empty the d/w by hand so that you can take the hose off the pump to check in the drain at the motor.Theres a valve at that point it could be clogged. And by the way I should not be answering questions about a d/w when the question was about a fridge. But I am.
We are dumping the water now to check the drain at the motor now. I REALLY appreciate your help and will accept and give a bonus when this is done.
Ok I have to go out for 1 hr I will be back.
Done. Everything seems to be working. Email me when you return and let me know what buttons I should press or if I should send an email for payment/bonus.
Hi The thing that gets me is you said you heard the clunk. It should drain then.Take the bottom panel off and watch the solenoid when it clicks the plunger should go down and open the valve to let the water out.watch it and tell me if this happens.
