I have this near new refreg. and came home from a vacation and found it not working. the coils on the bottom were all clogged with dust . I shut everything off while I cleaned it. then when I turned it on I heard a hum for a few seconds and then a click and no hum. The question is it all burned up and will need a new compressor. It's hot like its been cycling itself for too long. Would it start working if I let it cool down completely. Doug
Hi, is the fan in the back running? What is the make and model # ?
Yes the fan runs. It's a Kenmore Coldspot Mod. 106.50569992 Ser. SLO540306 THE COMPRESSOR IS REAL HOT AND THAT'S WERE I HEARD THE CLICK FROM.
How dirty was it undernieth?
IT WAS REAL DIRTY. I COULDN'T EVEN SEE THE COILS 1/2 TO 1 INCH THICK.
I would unplug it so it cools down and replace the overload and relay, part #(NNN) NNN-NNNNon the compressor. You can get the part at sears parts direct or local appliance part store. The compressor may be damaged, but you will not know until you replace these parts.
