my frezer is about 38f frige not cold. this started 3 weeks ago, then it was ok for two weeks or so then it did it again , and has not returned to is normal opporation.    mike from wi.

Do you have the frost on the freezer coils now ?

Once the back wall is taken out .you will see clamped to the top of the freezer coils a round disc with two wires.Its the defrost thermostat. Its wired to the defrost heater.If this part has failed it will cause the problem.If you have a O H M meter you can check this part.It should be closed.

Yes it will cause the problem On your fridge you have the Mother Board , The defrost thermostat ,And the heater.If the board sends current the heater the current has to go through the defrost thermostat first before it can get to the heater.
