I recently went on line about the icemaker in my rs2577sl samsung running over and freezing up the freezer. I was told by just answer to replace the ice maker, which I did, and it should work. I replaced the ice maker and it is still running over and freezing the freezer and dripping on to the floor out the ice chute. I checked the ice tray that came with the new ice maker and it is full to overflowing. Is there a setting to regulate how much water should empty into the ice tray? What should I do? I fell I wasted my money on the last attempt to fix the problem. Nothing was mentioned to me about he amount of water that flows into the ice tray.
the adjustment for the water fill is in the head of the icemaker and if you already replaced the icemaker and its doing the same thing then the problem is the water valve letting to much water in and overfilling the tray and into the bucket ,, replace the water valve ,, part number is XXXXX and it cost $52.99 and you can get it at a local appliance parts dealer or online at www3.sears.com ,, thanks Larry

where is the water valve?
where is the adjustment in the head of the ice maker? Is there a screw I turn to adjust it?
you cant adjust it ,,, the contacts close then the icemkaer hits the fill and open when it pass ,, the valve is located on the back and you will find it if you follow the water supply from the wall or sink and the water supply line connects to the water valve
is there a parts manual that will illustrate what your are saying that I can view on line?
here is a picture of the valve remove the lower panel on the back of the fridge and its mounted there and the water supply connects to it
where is the adjustment on it?
there isnt a adjustment you can set ,,, inside the head of the icemaker, when the gears turn it opens the contacts to allow water to come on till the gear turns and closes the contacts
so the adjustment is in the position of the contacts? Can I adjust that?
no ,, they are built in
