Hi, have a LG wdgo74fhb front loader, that recently had the dispenser redone as it was leaking, when it came back its come back with a horrible horrible mouldy smell, i rang the repair person they basically said it was smelly before (it was not!), its so bad i cant even wash my clothes, and forget leaving the door open (which i have always done, our whole unit stinks!) ive tried cleaning it out, running a hot cycle with vinegar, i swear its just getting worse, is there any product or anything i can do, this machine is still in warranty! thanks
HiHow is this connected to the waste? Is it under the sink, in a stand pipe, How?When you say the dispenser was redone, Can you explain further please?ThanksRob
a tube goes into the laundry sink, there was water coming out of the dispenser, and when we got it back the whole dispenser had been replaced
HIOK, thanksI dont think the two are connected other than that the machine was left unused for a period of time.Normally this smell is associated with being connected directly to a drain without an air break.Because we now use lower temperatures to wash, bacteria builds up in the pipework and machine. The cure is to periodically select the longest hottest wash with a very small amount of detergent and bleach. Vinegar is a decalcifying agent, but does nothing to germs. Its hot water and bleach that will do the trick. You are correct in leaving the door ajar to allow air to circulate. This may take several attempts as it builds up over time.I hope this answers your questionThanksRob
