I am replacing the broil element (P/N WB44T10009) on a G.E. Range (model No. JBP24BB2CT). When I removed the bolts from the back oven wall and fished around to pull out the two lead wires that connect to the end of the element, I also pulled out a a third wire connected to a bracket and a center post about 3-4 inches long. I finally found a replacement element about 2 weeks later, but I've now forgotten how this bracket and post is supposed to be hooked up, i.e. does the post stick out into the oven compartment?
What colour is the third wire?
Not sure of the color offhand - has white cotton mesh insulation covering it. KN0ow that the other two wires slipped onto the broiler element. I am at work right now so I can't check.
Don't currently have computer at home (but do have Blackberry for E-Mails). Will have to get back with you on Monday to reply via JustAnswer website (on 3 day trip starting tomorrow.)
I think it may be the temp sensor if it is the metal rod is inside the oven.
