I have a GE Profile Fridge Model#pss26sgpa ss. I got home tday and the fridge was @90F and the freezer @ -5F. What could be the issue?
is it cooling in the freezer
The freezer is fine. I can deal with -5. The real issue is the fridge side was 90 degrees and my house is only 75.
has the fridge started cooling down again yet
I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in, then pressed Turbo cool and it has started to cool down now. The temp now reads 54. It is very strange that the temp got to 90 degrees. Do you have any ideas that might cause this?
most likely the motherboard ,, i have seen this before and had to replace it ,, its on the back of the unit inside a 6x8 or so panel and the part number is XXXXX and it cost $148.49 and you you can get it at a local appliance parts dealer or online at www3.sears.com ,,, i would go ahead and replace it before it goes down again / thanks Larry
Do you know of any outstanding recalls on that part since the unit is only 5 years old. Or of where I would find out if there are any part recalls?
i know of non but if there are any recalls it would be on the ge site ,,, http://www.ask.com/bar?q=ge+appliance+service&page=1&qsrc=178&ab=0&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geappliances.com%2Fservice_and_support%2Fservice%2F
