I have a GE MAX Dishwasher that is not draining properly. The model # XXXXX XXXXX After a wash it leaves water almost up to the door in the bottom. I have checked to make sure that it is not cloogged in the drain. I removed the dishwasher and ran a rinse cycle while pumping the drain hose into a bucket. Water came out from the drain hose but not very strongly. The pump has a definite whirring sound and after 2 -4 minute rinse cycles there was water almost up to the bottom of the door. I suspect the pump is not working properly and could be burning out. When I disconnected the drain hose from the drain to the sink I found a large fold in the connecting drain line. It cover half of the drain line that the dishwasher drained into. Could this have cause the pump to go bad? I intend on changing this and the pump. Is there something else I sgould check first? Thanks
You are going in the right direction.Iwould check the pump for a blockage before i buy a new one.
