I bought our Maytag refrigerator in 1999. It has a top freezer

Customer Question

I bought our Maytag refrigerator in 1999. It has a top freezer and has "dual cool". it has served us well for nine summers. When I turned it on several days ago seem to work okay but never cooled sufficiently. Ice never froze in the freezer and the refrigerator did not cool as well as it has in the past e.g the soda cans were not as cold as usual. moving this line controls for both the freezer and refrigerator did not improve the cooling. With a brush designed for cleaning underneath I removed dust and dust particles. There wasn't much dust.
what do you recommend that I do before calling for service or getting a new refrigerator.

Hello what is the model number? Also do you see frost on the back panel in the freezer and do you hear a fan in the freezer?

Customer replied 1014 days and 22 hours ago.

Don't know the model number. I do not hear fan in freezer

Ok if you remove the back panel in the freezer what do the coils look like? It sounds like you are going to need a new evap fan motor.

I looked in the refrigerator and the fan does not mo\ove. I can't remove cover or back. This is most likely the problem. Thanks. Where is the accept button?
