The water dispenser of my TFX22CRBC WW refrigerator continues to deliver water for about 15 seconds after the button is released. What needs to be replaced? What is part number?

Hello, I am here to assist you with your situation. First, take off the grill at the bottom of the fridge. Right below the doors. Now below the freezer door you should see the water line going into a connector of sort, is a connector there?

Customer replied 1018 days and 17 hours ago.

there is a connector

Okay, is it a quick disconnect or a screw on connector? Also you will need a small pan for the next step.

Customer replied 1018 days and 17 hours ago.

it is a screw on connector

Okay good, Now unscrew the connector and stick the end that is coming from under the fridge (not the one going up into the freezer door).in the pan. Then have someone press the water button and see if the water stays on for the 15 seconds like you said it does.

Customer replied 1018 days and 17 hours ago.

it actually continues to flow for about 7 or 8 seconds

Okay, and it slowly fades away. What you have is a weak water valve. The solenoid for the water valve is not shutting when it should. This could be due to a weak solenoid or build-up inside the valve. Either way it needs to be replaced. The valve is located in the lower right corner of the back of your unit. The MFR number for the water valve is WR57X10051 and should run you about $40. It can be obtained at any reputable appliance parts store.
