I have a 10 year old whirlpool washer model #LSR6132EQ1. Sometimes it stops after the wash cycle and before the drain cycle. It does this about 20% of the time. If I open and close the lid to engage the lid swith, it sometimes will start again, but not always. On these occasions, I restart the wash cycle and it usually will then go on to the drain and spin cycles. Any idea what this could be (lid switch?)?
the lid switch is bad and needs to be replaced ,,, the part number is(NNN) NNN-NNNNand cost $38.84 and you can get it at a local appliance parts dealer or online at www3.sears.com ,, to replace it you will need to remove the screw at the front on each end of the control panel, pull forward and tilt back ,, unplug the lid switch and pop out the two hold down clips and side the cabinet off to swap the lid switch / thanks Larry
