My 4-year old Bosch dishwasher is generating some odd sounds. At the beginning of the cycle, it emits a loud squealing sound, slightly intermittant - then during the course of the cycle, the washing sounds are louder than they used to be. Finally, at the end of the cycle, the loud squealing sound returns briefly. This same situation arose earlier this year and I spent considerable time and effort running various dishwasher cleaners through the machine - the sounds abated and things seemed to be running smoothly. (Despite having a water softner, I still have lime and calcium deposits around the water fixtures.) The sounds returned about 1 month ago and all my recent efforts have not brought about a favorable result. Is there something more serious than semi-hard water at the root? Hiya,
If the squealing sound is at the very start of the programme and at the very end it would suggest that the drain pump is at fault.
This runs first and also last.
If the noises are when the appliance is washing it would suggest that the circulation pump is at fault.
Check the machine again, see if it makes the noise before it fills with water. If it does, you'll need to change the drain pump.
The noisier wash sounds I would suggest that you live with that until the wash pump fails as this is a fairly expensive part.
Hope this helps
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks
