I have a ge profile 8280 dishwasher and it will not run the normal cycle any more but will run the others...also the start button is very finicky and take many tries to get it to light up...is this the control panel or the timing computer?
whats the whole model number please
the model is pdw 8280JO1SS. I have it running on the pots cycle and now it will not complete the cycle...I think it just keeps running...the start button is lit, but will not respond to touch
is this a new install

Well....I'm glad I didn't order the part...I took the front panel off and found that the door switch plunger was just worn enough that it would not allow the panel to start...I extended the plunger with some plasticglue and now the unit functions properly.
that plunger is made to move in/out you might want to get a new one thats called a wax motor
Well....looks like my problems are still continuing...when I mount the control panel in its proper place...it doesn't work....when I just let it hang from its ribbon connector...it works just fine...so it seems to be a connector problem or continuity in the ribbon..I have ordered a new panel.
ok good luck
