Customer Question

I have a maytag MFD2561HES REFRIGERATOR ,FRENCH DOOR TOP,BOTTOM FREEZER.THE past couple days the fridge went up in temperture to 79 degrees, but the freezer is fine at 4degrees .we noticed the fan was alittle quiet, not normal. I had a tech from a appliance service company come to look at the problem.,he seemed alittle stunned. He looked in freezer and then took out freezer door and took panel off. HE also looked behind refrig and took bottom panel off. HE said i needed a new evaporator motor, relay, and a new compressor motor. He said he would have to order the compressor motor ,it would take a couple days, and he has to check if its under warranty. My question was how come my freezer was still 4 degrees and he said the compressor wasnt working. The tech told me it was because of the cold still in freezer.   I let him change evaperator motor and relay. He left 4hrs ago temp now fridg-55, freezer-15. Do you think it's bull that I need a new compressor motor ?

You wont need a compressor motor if the freezer was still cold. He migh have said that it needs a condensor fan motor. That is a fan that blows air on the compressor to cool it. You can pull the frig foward and remove the lower back panel to see if the fan is running. If the fan is running you should need anything else. The evap fans fail alot in this model.

I took off back panel the fan to the left is running. Is the black round thing to the right the compressor motor,it was hot and the copper tubes running out of it were also very warm.Is that ok.Do you think everything is ok now.Is compressor motor good.
