We have a 1992 Maytag Performa electric dryer, model #TYE2300AYW.

Resolved Question:

We have a 1992 Maytag Performa electric dryer, model #TYE2300AYW.   The dry cycle stopped in mid cycle last evening, and we're unable to get the dryer to turn back on.   The control dial doesn't seem to respond at all (no 'clicks' or indication that it's triggering anything when we push it in or turn it). I've checked the fuse box, the door and the plug.   Any advice? This is the second repair we've had to make - wondering if we've got a lemon.

The thermal fuse located near the heater is bad and you will need to replace it. it is part number LA-1053, You can order this part at the following locations online... http://www.apwagner.com/, or http://www.repairclinic.com/, or http://www.partstore.com/. All 3 of these places are a good place to order your parts because of thier liberal return policy....

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like something for a technician to handle for us - we're not particularly handy. I appreciate knowing what we should expect, however.
