Our 10 year old Miele G 870 SC is making a high pitched noise

Resolved Question:

Our 10 year old Miele G 870 SC is making a high pitched noise through the drying cycle and then pours water onto the floor when we open the door. The water is coming out of the small grate on the upper left hand corner, which says "turbothermic" under it. Any ideas?

Yep that piece needs to be replaced. That is a vent that is supposed to open when it dries and shut when it's washing. It sounds like it's staying open all the time and getting the fan motor wet causing the squeeling.

Is there a way we could buy and install the replacement part ourselves, or do we need to hire a technician?

Thanks for your help.

if your handy then this is probably something you can do yourself, but parts only come from one sourse for Miele---and that's Miele themselves. You will have to call them to order the part because they don't use outside distributers.
