My DW-5 dishwasher has the following problem:

After a full cycle, it does not appear to be rinsing properly (detergent left in the bottm and running down from the dispenser) and we get the "wash arm" display. A second quick wash cycle is needed to finish the load. The only change in detergent is we changed from liquid Cascade (shine shield formula) to liquid cascade with baking soda (shine shield formula). We have been using the baking soda stuff for about 1 1/2 (155 oz) bottles. On Monday of this week we switched back to the original stuff with no change.

if you have detergent running down inside of door after load is done .

It sounds as if you have Either no water coming into d/w during fill cycle OR wash motor is not circulating water around inside of tank

Do these two possibilities match up to the "Wash Arm" error code?

Yes ,, wash arm error is telling you it is not reconizing arm is turning and with out water it will not turn ,

The water pressure is what makes the spray arms turn, if you have no water or if the wash motor is not making water move, then no spray arm moving
