Resolved Question:

My nexxt premium electric dryer has (always had..?) a loud, rather high pitched squeal as it runs. Is it a belt seating problem, or...anything a DIY handy househusband could tackle?

could be the belt, the motor, your drum rollers, or your tensioner pulley or your blower wheel

Would it narrow things down if i said it squeaks in a cycle that's roughly one second long? -Rob
Expert:  william replied 7 years ago.
so it sqeeks for 1 second? and thats it? thanks
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
No- a one second squeak wouldn't bother me! This is a fairly constant sqeak that goes in two tones, like sqeeeEEEK, squeeeEEEK, and it takes about a second or so to go through that squeeeEEEK, WHICH IS PROBABLY HOW LONG THE BIG DRUM TAKES TO TURN ONCE-
so,
#1 is that likely the drum belt, and is it worn, poorly seated, needs lube, and
#2can a joe blow like me even think about going in to look at this?
Thanks,
Rob

your gonna have to pop the top and run it you should be able to find the sqeek i would start with the drum rollers you can put transmission fluid in the roller shafts a little bit of though and try that

Thanks. That's good. Could you just tell me what the roller shafts look like, and
#2, could it still be the belt?
