I recently bought a used Maytag electric dryer. I hooked it

Resolved Question:

I recently bought a used Maytag electric dryer. I hooked it up and it would turn off immediatley. I checked to make sure the plug was wired propperly and it is. I then checked to see if the drum turned by hand and it does not. When I removed the belt the drum turns by hand and the motor is running freely. with no belt dryer stays on. What could the problem be?

Soory I work with so many customers

It looks like e but that is definaley not how the belt was routed. Could the non motor spool be ceased? it was hard to turn it. I think it was because the belt was not routed right though.
Expert:  John replied 7 years ago.
If the belt was jammed on the pulley it could have caused the problem,Follow the routing and try the dryer
