We have a Dacor 6-eye propane cooktop; we have owned this for 10 years. Whenever we are cooking on one or two eyes, the sparker sparks on an unused eye. It has done this since the unit was installed in 1998, but recently it has gotten much worse. What can we do to rectify this annoying situation?
you mean when your not useing it it sarks all by itself? whats your model number please? thanks
It is an Epicure Gas Cooktop Model No. ESG486
you mean when your not useing it it sparks all by itself
It does not spark if we are not using any eyes, but if we are using one or two, an eye that is not being used will spark continuously. It sounds like a machine gun trying to light an eye that is not turned on.
try putting a new set in there or to be sure swap one from the other and see if you get the same results

What do you mean by a new set?
well dont you need 2 of them?
I don't understand your answer. Each eye has a single sparker, not a set. Are you suggesting replacing the sparkers? I think that would be a job for an appliance technician. Am I missing something here?
im sorry but one is a set thats how they put it if you feel that you need one then go ahead and call for service
