We have a Kenmore Elite HE4t washer. My wife noticed not too

Resolved Question:

We have a Kenmore Elite HE4t washer. My wife noticed not too long ago that, when the buzzer went off, the codes 02 and F flashed ("F" follows the "02"). She pressed "cancel". The codes and the buzzer went off. The machine return to normal operation but, when it reached the 1 minute mark, it just kept on going. She wasn't able to turn it off, cancel operation or do anything else. The machine had to be unplugged to force end the operation. It happened again today. Please help. Thank you.

F02Long DrainIf the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and F02 is flashed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked

  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects
• If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

I am not very handy but I am certain I can get go through your suggestions. Where can I locate the drain hose and pump filter?

at the very bottom of the washe on the front you will see 3 screws. Remove the 3 screws and then remove the lower front panel. You will see a white twist cap in the middle of the washer. Unscrew the cap. This is the filter. Watch out because water will drain out.

The drain hose almost never clogs it is always the filter. Look there first.
