Thank you for your quick response, the wash machine will not spin, we originally thought perhaps it was the belt, but this did not work, so when we called a repair person he says it is the transmission

ok these have a part called a helix which pushes the transmission into spin. this may be bad. did he try replacing that? this is the kit for that, click here. let me know thanks Bryan, p.s. read waht it says this kit is for , its says slow or no spin.
