I have a washing machine that is making a loud thumping noise at the end of every spin cycle. Can you tell me what part I need to replace?

It is a Kenmore washing machine. Model number XXXXXXXXXXX It is 4-5 years old.

got it ,,,, set washer to spin and with lid down and when it picks up speed open the lid and see if the spin tub keeps spinning and starts making that noise as it trys to slow down

turned to spin and then opened and it made the thumping as it stopped.

the drive block is bad ,,, part number is XXXXX ,,, you will need to take the 2 screws out on the control panel and tilt back, unplug wireing harness and hold down clamps and slide cabinet off ,,,, take the top plastic ring off the tub, remove agit, take the nut off under the agit and pull out inner tub and the drive block sets on the drive shaft ,,, tap it up and off and go back with new one ,,, i'll send a pic along with this / that will fix the washer / hope this helped / larry

Thank you, XXXXX XXXXX what I suspected. I'm a little concerned because when the machine was under warranty I had a technician look at it and he replaced the drive block on May 22, 2006. Now I'm going to replace another. Do you think there could be something wrong with the machine that is causing the drive block problem? After I hit reply, I will accept so you get paid. Can you still send me the pictures it might assist me with the repair?
