Hi this is Bryan. the first thing you need to do is remove the front panel by removing the 2 screws at the bottom of panel, these are at an angle so you have to get down low to see them. once they are removed pull pannel out from the bottom and the top clips will release and panel will come off. be carefull there are wires connected to the door switch remove these .(remember where they go)once thats done you can remove the inner drum support panel by removing the 5/16 screws holding this part on then you will be at the drum . place new belt around drum and around pully and motor (note sometimes you have to go through the little back panel to put belt around motor and pully.) here are some diagrams for belts for maytag , click here. http://www.repairclinic.com/0079.asp#DiagramE and heres a diagram for blower assembly. dg308 has a square panelcover held by 4 screws. I can see the broken belt. Why should i go through the front of the dryer?
Expert:  Bryan replied 8 years ago.
because you cant get the belt around the drum through the back , the only way is to take the front off and get belt around drum .the panel in the back is for putting belt around pully and motor , I've done many of these dryers and wish there was an easier way.. Bryan
