You can do a couple of basic tests. Check the continuity of the door switch with the door closed and open. Check that you have 120 volts at the board.
These machines have a history of developing a short in the door lock mechanism that will cause the board to blow. You can check R11 and R12 on the board to see if they are burned and/or melted. If so, you will need to get the kit that is now available to replace both the door lock and the board.
There are detailed tests that you can run from the service manual. If you have some experience and lots of patience you can work from there. I have downloarded the service manual for you.
When you go to the site to download do not use AOL. Use Internet Explorer or another browser because that site does not like AOL. Choose the "Free" option. After you download the file you will need to open it with Adobe or another application. You should already have that on your computer.
