My Kenmore washer fills with water but the tub wont spin, turn

Customer Question

My Kenmore washer fills with water but the tub won't spin, turn or agitate at all. The water fills the tub like it's going to work but then nothing, wont agitate. I played around with the lid switch and can hear it clicking. What do you think? Thanks

it has to be either bad lid switch even though it makes clck or your timer is bad.lets hope its you lid switch. do you have tools and able to work on this? how old is this machine? thanks Bryan
Customer: replied 8 years ago.

The machine is around 6 or so years old, i got it used. Yes i can replace the switch.

Is the timer hard to replace if i need to? i will do the lid first.
