We have a Maytag dishwasher, but we cannot make the model number.

Customer Question

We have a Maytag dishwasher, but we cannot make the model number. All we can see is (Wu 482) and the serial is 152760 vp as far as we can tell. The dishwasher is not pumping all the water out of the bottom. We know the dishwasher is old, but this is the first trouble we have had out of this machine. I need a parts break down so I can order parts.

HiCustomer

Thank you for using Just Answer.

You can see all the parts on these diagrams and search for specific items there also.

http://www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelSearch.aspx?ModelNum=WU482&mfgModelNum=&fkMfgID=1

Here is another good site for ordering parts -

http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=737827&PPStack=1

I don't have a exact service repair manual for this dishwahser because of the age of that model. However, this manual has been a help to many DIY project leaders and you may want to have it -

Let me know if you need any more information.

My problem is the pump is not pumping all the water out at thje end of the wash. I think it may be the pump. Am I on the right Track?

HiCustomer

Yes, you are on the right track. However, there are several things to check before you start to disassemble the dishwasher.

This site is good for you to check the "usual suspect" first.

Then, the specifics that follow for the model that they are talking about should only be used as a guide.

Your machine may be different. I do think you may have the solenoid that can be replaced (without having to replace the pump) on that model. If you do, then be sure to test the solenoid first.

If you have not had any service done on the machine, then replace anything that looks worn and be sure to inspect the impeller area. The parts are not too bad (relatively speaking) and you may not get them much longer.

HiCustomer

One of the other experts (Home Smithy) has sent this link to us. He states that this manual will be the one for you to follow.

Thank you Home Smithy!

You should not use AOL on this site. When you go to the link choose the "free" option and download the PDF file to you computer. You will need Adobe or another application to open the file. You should have that already on you computer.
