All washer functions work, except does not agitate and motor hums in that cycle. Maytag Mdl LAT9206BAE

Yes, and wife say's she smelled rubber burning, belts under bottom plateform look good.

the motor in the picture goes both directions.

1st. remove the bets and try it again and see if the motor works. in spin and agitate.

2nd. if it works both ways, check pump make sure nothing in the pump is binding it to not let it turn.

3. if nothing in pump, check the large pulley in the middle that one of the belts go on, make sure it moves both directions.

4. If all that is good, either brakes or transmission is going out.

well the pulley in the middle, when it goes one direction it is to lower the brakes to allow it to move and when moves the other direction it keeps anything from moving. That is why it is a possiblity the brakes are stuck. U will need a specialty tool to remove the brakes. brake assy is #5 graphic
