frigidare dishwasher

stops after wash and dry cycle. replaced the timer pad and it is still doing it. if you move the knob it will start up again. any sugestions as to what might be wrong. it is about four years old. thank you. chuck digman

Hello,

It sounds like one of two things. If the water is not entering the dishwasher hot enough the machine will pause for a long period of time before it advances.(if it does). Try turning off the heated wash and dry options and running the dishwasher. If this doesn't help, i would look into the limit thermostat on the bottom of the dishwasher. It may not be letting the heater come on and not heating the water.

This is the first thing I would be looking into at this point.

Here is a diagram showing the limit thermostat. If this is bad, the heater will not come on.

The thermostat is round and has two wires running to it. Also while under the dishwasher check the connections to the heater.
