I am working on an older GE clothes washer and I am trying to remove the transmission/gear box. I have everything apart but I don''t see how to get the rubber seal that seals the gearbox from the tub off of the gear box. Help?

hi , i think i can help you. have you removed the agitator and inner tub yet? if not remove both and you will see the boot is connected by two large clamps that go around the transmission and tub use a 1/4 '' nut driver to loosen and remove boot . when thats done you should see the bolts to remove transmission after remove bolts and of course belt from underneath just lift trans. out . hope this helps. bryan
