What is the model number of your unit, please?
Im sorry to say it, but this is a common problem with these units. It is a manufacturers defect and the switches they sell now are not any better than the old ones.
There are some people that have had luck just reinstalling the switch. It may be that they reposition it in some way that makes it function again.
I'm sorry but replacing the lock is really about the only option there is in this case.
