Resolved Question:

we have a ples389d range and the rear burner warm light stays on. the breaker also tripped. I rerset the breaker but the light stays on.

Most likely your burner shorted out and it took the switch out with it. This will cause the breaker to blow and the warm lite to stay on. These parts are difficult to replace due to the fact that your range is a slide in model. This will usually take approx. at least an hour to two hours to replace.

Reply to Chuck G.'s Post: i do not think the burner is the problem as it still goes on and off. the light still stays on even after the burner cools down.

Unfortunately the warm light is operated by an internal switch that is attached to the burner assembly. This part is where the wires hook up to the burner. This is a dual function switch. This switch serves as the hi limit and the hot surface light. graphic
