The only thing that comes to mind is maybe your washer is agitating and trying to spin at the same time which would cause the clothes to thrash about more than normal and make them lint up . Observe the washer while it's washing - - does the basket start moving while it's agitating? If it does there's the problem and indicates the transmission brake is not holding.
