This answer was rated:

I have a chest freezer that had the electricity disconnected so the food spoiled (pretty bad). Once I got it out, I washed it out with a hose, but evidently the water rusted out the bottom and the paint came out and rusted where the welds are along the bottom. Is this freezer still usuable and possibly resaleable? The freon is still intact because I was going to take it to the dump, and they required me to have the freon removed before they'd accept it, so I just wanted to know if I should keep and use it or possibly try to sale it.
